Public input sought on Casey’s leisure plan

CASEY residents are encouraged to give feedback on the City of Casey’s award-winning Leisure Facilities and Development Plan (LFDP).
The LFDP is being reviewed to accommodate Casey’s rapidly-increasing population.
City of Casey Mayor Sam Aziz said when the plan was developed in 2008, the population of Casey was predicted to be 317,000. But the State Government change to the Urban Growth Boundary (UGB) last year meant the area will now be home to 450,000 people by 2036.
City of Casey Manager Sport and Leisure Richard Amon said information from residents would be used to ensure that Casey is adequately supplied with opportunities for all residents to access healthy lifestyle choices.
Since the development of the LFDP, a number of projects have been implemented including Casey Fields Athletics Centre, Grices Road Soccer Facility, Sydney Pargeter Gridiron Field, Prospect Hill Soccer Facility, Narre Warren South Tennis Centre, Lynbrook Oval and Pavilion, additional ovals at Lawson Poole and Berwick Springs Reserves and detailed design for Marriott Waters Reserve, Carlisle Park Reserve and Hunt Club Reserve.
The council encourages residents to complete an online survey, on www.casey.vic.gov.au/currentconsultations by 15 February. For details, contact City of Casey Customer Service on 9705 5200.
