Guide for anglers

KEEN anglers in the City of Casey are urged to pick up the new Victorian Recreational Fishing Guide.
The 2012 Victorian Recreational Fishing Guide, released by the State Government, outlines rules that currently apply as well as new rules introduced since the last edition.
South Eastern Metropolitan Region MP Inga Peulich said more than 300,000 guides were printed to help Victoria’s recreational anglers fish sustainably and to ensure that all local residents could enjoy fishing in Victoria.
“Victoria’s waters range from fast, snow-fed streams in the mountains, to calm rivers and creeks flowing down to the sea,” Ms Peulich said.
“Our waterways provide some of the world’s finest seafood, from abalone and mussels to rock lobster and snapper.
“The recreational fishing licence fees have funded the guide and other educational products such as plastic measures for abalone, rock lobster and freshwater spiny crayfish.”
Guides are available free from Department of Primary Industries regional offices, selected tourism outlets and 900 recreational fishing licence sellers throughout Victoria.
