A COMMUNITY-minded business man has been honoured for his outstanding contribution to the Narre Warren North Fire Brigade and local organisations.
The Narre Warren North Fire Brigade presented Marco Ciavarella, the owner of Marco’s IGA in Narre Warren North, with the Kevin Ridd Perpetual Award in recognition of his outstanding commitment and support to the brigade and the local community.
The Kevin Ridd Perpetual Award is named after past president and life member of the Narre Warren North Fire Brigade and recognises individuals who have gone above and beyond the call of duty in supporting the Narre Warren North Fire Brigade and Community. Narre Warren North Fire Brigade Captain Shaun Trotter said Mr Ciavarella continually went out of his way to assist the Narre Warren North Fire Brigade.
“On both the Ash Wednesday fires and the Black Saturday fires, Marco ensured all fire fighters were well fed and hydrated, his assistance to CFA at these times was invaluable.”
Kevin Ridd said Mr Ciavarella was a humble man who worked tirelessly for his community.
His business is also an avid sponsor and promoter of many clubs and groups in the area.
