AFASTER internet service will be available to many local families in the coming months.
The City of Casey has welcomed the NBN Co announcement that more housing estates across Victoria, particularly new estates in Clyde North and Cranbourne, will be fitted with NBN Co’s fibre optic cable by March.
City of Casey Mayor Sam Aziz said it was fantastic news for the fast growing municipality.
“Council is continuing to advocate to NBN Co and the Federal Government for improved broadband infrastructure across all of Casey, particularly in the existing suburbs of Berwick and Narre Warren South which are notorious broadband black spots,” Cr Aziz said.
“Broadband availability in Casey is patchy, frustrating for householders and stifling business development.
“With more than 19,500 businesses in the municipality, many of them home-based operations, broadband access is a critical issue. To maintain efficiency, productivity and growth, these businesses need fast and reliable internet access.”
Cr Aziz encouraged residents to visit the council’s website to show their support for high speed broadband in Casey.
“By logging onto council’s website and showing your support, we hope to send a message to NBN Co and the Federal Government that Casey residents are ready for high speed broadband now,” Cr Aziz said.
