U-NITE for Victory

TWO great soccer players from the City of Casey will take part in an opening game at AAMI Park stadium before today’s (26 January) U-NITE match where Melbourne Victory take on Sydney Football Club.
This is the third consecutive year that the Melbourne Victory FC will host U-NITE, an event created to celebrate the club bringing together players and fans from a diverse range of multicultural backgrounds.
The Victorian Champions League (VCL) All Star team, including Hampton Park resident Jonathan Parra and Eumemmerring resident Slavisa Saric will play UNITE FC, a Victorian-based U18s team of immigrants and refugees primarily from Victoria’s Horn of Africa community.
The VCL All Stars are made up of some of the best soccer players across the state, and the players represent many countries including Europe, South America, Africa, Asia, and Australia.
The UNITE FC team is also made of up of great soccer players, having recently participated in the world’s premier youth tournament, the U18’s Mediterranean Cup in Barcelona.
There will also be entertainment and performances by international acts before the Melbourne Victory and Sydney FC play.
