AN Endeavour Hills Primary School is set to become home to a new community playground.
Casey Council last week awarded Southern Cross Primary School $6000 to build the new playground that will be available to the community outside school hours.
The David Collins school currently has 300 students and the funding will help replace old pine play equipment that has been in place since the school opened in 1985.
Nearby Thomas Mitchell Primary School also applied for the funding but was unsuccessful on the grounds that a new community playground was built at Singleton Reserve in 2005, which is only 300 metres from the school site.
