Hills crushed

– Russell Bennett
ENDEAVOUR Hills could not recover from their embarrassing first innings against Oakleigh at Warrawee Park, losing outright in a crushing defeat.
Batting first on day one, Endeavour Hills were skittled for just 22 from 17 overs. Only one batsman – Richard Saniga (13) – made more than five runs.
In reply, Oakleigh charged to 5/237 declared on the back of a brilliant captain’s knock from Jarrod Travaglia (124).
Sent in to bat again, and still more than 200 behind Oakleigh’s first innings score, Endeavour Hills struggled again – this time dismissed for 142. Neil Peake (53) and Ben Law (38) were the top scorers.
The Hills also played a one-dayer on Sunday (February 12), this time falling to Malvern in a much more even contest.
Batting first, Malvern reached 5/180 from its 35 overs. In reply, Endeavour Hills was dismissed for 141 with Law (34) again the pick of the batsmen.
