UNCHARITABLE thieves left empty handed last Thursday after they tried to break into Doveton’s Salvation Army Store.
The Frawley Road Centre was targeted about 11pm when thieves tried to cut a rear door with tin snips. Nothing was stolen.
Detective Senior Constable Brian Whitehead of Narre Warren CIU said the thieves had been unable to gain entry into the main building and had instead broken a lock off a rear storage shed.
He urged any witnesses to come forward and contact police on either 9705 3111 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
