Passing car theft

POLICE say an ‘opportunistic’ thief has stolen more than $2600 worth of goods from the back seat of a car in Berwick amid police calls for drivers not to leave valuables in cars.
The incident occurred between 10am and 2pm on Sunday, 28 August when the car was parked at a leisure centre in Manuka Road, Berwick. A handbag, camera, mobile phone, money, clothing and other personal items were stolen.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Senior Constable Tony Meyers of Narre Warren CIU on 9705 3111.

GOLF clubs, a wallet, jewellery and other personal items were stolen from the back seat of a car in Endeavour Hills on Tuesday, 23 August.
Police said the incident occurred between 10.30pm on the Tuesday night and 6am on Wednesday, 24 August at the Cassia Crescent home. The white Mitsubishi Mirage was parked on the street in front of the house at the time and police have asked anyone with any information to contact Detective Senior Constable Justin Cornford on 9705 3111.
The estimated total cost of the stolen goods was $3692, which included Srixon golf clubs and a white golf bag worth $3000.

POLICE have not ruled out whether two recent jewellery thefts may be linked after houses in Hallam and Narre Warren were both raided on the same day.
Thieves stole more than $1000 worth of jewellery between 7.55am and 7pm on Wednesday, 24 August from a Marnie Place home in Hallam. Police said the raiders used a screwdriver or similar instrument to force entry through the kitchen window. Anyone with information can call Detective Senior Constable Peter Lockman on 9705 3111.
In the second incident, more than $11,000 worth of jewellery and a video were stolen from a Saffron Drive home in Narre Warren. Police said the incident occurred between 8am and 4pm on Wednesday, 24 August and they have asked anyone with any information to contact Detective Senior Constable Andrew Smart of Narre Warren CIU on 9705 3111.
