Special package for ladies’ event

CRANBOURNE Harness Racing Club is expecting a bumper crowd for its annual Girls Night Out on Saturday at Cranbourne Racing Complex.
The promotion has become a highlight of the club’s annual calendar and an array of entertainment is planned to complement a bumper nine-race program.
“Girls Night Out is one of our most popular meetings throughout the year and we’re once again inviting all the ladies to spoil themselves with a great night out for them and their girlfriends,” the club’s chief executive Jacquie Richardson said.
“The first 200 ladies through the gate will receive a complimentary showbag full of goodies and a glass of champagne to get their night started in style, but there’s something for all the ladies to enjoy.
“We’re inviting them to browse, shop and be pampered in our Golden Rein Room, which will feature a vast array of ladies’ fashions and accessories, cosmetics, beauty products, giftware and some divine Nutrimetics pampering.
“For those wanting to make a special night of it we’ve also organised an exclusive Girls Night Out dining package for just $40 per person. It includes admission, a racebook, two course carvery and exclusive tote facilities all from the warmth of your own function room.
“This of course complements all the great racing action that will be happening on the track, including our annual female drivers’ challenge, the Angelique Club Pace.”
The Angelique Club Pace offers prizemoney of $6500 and will feature many of the sport’s female drivers, including Drouin-raised superstar Jodi Quinlan.
Other highlights include an $8000 heat of the prized Vicbred Super Series for the four-year-old entires and geldings, which culminates in a $100,000 final at Moonee Valley on 19 May and the $8000 Ladd Electrical Pace for the fast class pacers.
Admission will cost $8 for adults and $4 concession, with children under-18 admitted free. Action starts at 6.30pm with the first race scheduled for 7pm.
