CASEY’S cake decorating enthusiasts are set to come together this weekend to learn more about their craft.
The Casey branch of the Victorian Cake Decorating Society formed last October and on Saturday will hold its first annual Christmas in June with a demonstration at Berwick’s Old Cheese Factory.
Visitors will be able to learn how to make beautiful but easy chocolate Christmas trees and everyone in attendance will be shown how to make a different Christmas cake and to top it off learn to make the stunning Bethlehem flower as demonstrated by Stella Abraham.
Avid cake decorator Lyn Rattle of Narre Warren South said she loved giving workshops and sharing her skills with others.
Ms Rattle said cake decorating was very popular in the Casey area with many young women and even men taking up the hobby.
She said many people were keen to create beautiful birthday, christening, wedding and Christmas cakes and urged cake enthusiasts to come along.
The cost of the demonstration is $6 for members, non-members are $10. A non-traditional Christmas lunch is also available for $5 per person. All are welcome but there are limited places and bookings are essential.
