CFAfree woman trapped in car wreck

AN 18-year-old woman was trapped in her car on Monday night following a serious collision in Doveton.
The collision occurred about 8.30pm when a car turning from Liquidamber Street into Power Road mounted the kerb and struck a tree on the driver’s side.
The woman was later airlifted to The Alfred Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The only passenger, a 20-year-old man, was taken to hospital by ambulance with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The Hallam Fire Brigade, Dandenong Rescue and Dandenong Rescue Support attended the scene along with multiple police units and the air ambulance.
The rescue team had to lift the car away from the tree to gain access to the crushed driver’s side door and release the female driver.
On Wednesday morning, a spokesperson for The Alfred Hospital said the patient remained in a critical condition.
Anyone who witnessed the incident can contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
