A NARRE Warren service station was temporarily closed last Thursday afternoon when a motorist noticed gas leaking from their car.
Firefighter Damien Baker from Narre Warren CFA said the driver went to fill the gas tank of the four-wheel drive when they noticed it was leaking gas.
The driver then told the service station attendant, who quickly alerted the fire brigade.
Mr Baker said the car had 20 litres of gas inside and the CFA had helped shut off the gas, decant the cylinder and flare off remaining gas before the service station could reopen.
