A 13-FOOT wall was not enough to deter thieves on Saturday morning when a Doveton DVD store was burgled.
Police said the thieves had hooked a rope up onto a down pipe of the Hawthorn Road store before scaling the wall, and climbing through the roof.
Detective Senior Sergeant Steve Gaskan said the persons involved had then removed screws holding down the roof, before kicking it in, and climbing into a bathroom. He believed a cordless drill might have been used. Thieves then entered the store and stole an undisclosed amount of cash from a till before leaving the drawer on the ground.
A security company monitors the store and arrived at the scene about 3.30am but thieves had already fled the scene.
Security footage inside the store was unable to capture the offenders, as the lights were not turned on.
