OPTIONS are aplenty at Hallam secondary school following a career seminar this week.
More than 10 speakers from many different career backgrounds visited the Eumemmerring Secondary College campus on Tuesday to talk to year 11 and 12 students about their future job and educational choices.
Speakers from universities and TAFES also spoke to students about their future educational options during the two-hour seminar.
Students learnt about the life and career path of a police officer, nurse and pilot, and representatives from the Victorian Automotive Chamber of Commerce and Master Builders’ Association also spoke to students about future job options.
Deakin University representatives spoke of their business management and law courses, representatives from Monash University spoke of their engineering, arts and design, nursing and information technology courses, and Chisholm Institute of TAFE representatives spoke of their logistic and transport courses.
A representative from MEGT, Victoria’s biggest new apprenticeships centre, was also on hand to talk about future job options and answer student questions.
Careers coordinator Jane Bloodworth said the session aimed to give students a broad spectrum of career and course options as they completed their final years of secondary school.
