STUDENTS at Dandenong Valley School had their eyes on the prize recently when they took part in the recent Shop For Your School Spelling Bee.
Representatives from Westfield Fountain Gate visited the Narre Warren school to conduct the spelling competition as part of the annual Shop for Your Schools campaign.
Students used an interactive white board as part of the spelling contest and principal Margaret Edmunds said students had greatly enjoyed competing.
She said the students had set their sights on winning one of the interactive whiteboards as part of the national competition.
Ms Edmunds said the school would also love to win the major national prize – a school makeover from Channel 7’s Better Homes and Gardens team – to upgrade their junior playground.
Ms Edmunds said she had checked the local Shop For Your Schools tally last week and Dandenong Valley had been in the lead.
The competition closes on Sunday 6 August and Ms Edmunds said they were hopeful of a win.
Students Alaxandar Lamont and Robbie Destratis were named winners in the spelling competition.
