MANY of the city’s older residents across a number of Casey’s Residential Care facilities have been treated to a series of concerts by talented local musical and school groups.
The concerts formed part of the Casey Winter Arts Program and Casey manager arts and leisure Robyn Bowen said this was the first year council had run the Ageing Positively Series in the Winter Arts Program.
Ms Bowen said the feedback from older residents on the initial concerts had been terrific.
“The annual Winter Arts Program runs through the whole month of July, showcasing arts and cultural opportunities to the community,” Ms Bowen said.
“We recognised that some residents in residential care facilities may have been missing out of the Winter Arts Program fun and we decided to create the Ageing Positively Concert Series to bring some of the excitement to them at their homes.
Groups involved in the Ageing Positively Concert Series include: the Cranbourne Lions Concert Band, Cranbourne Chorale, Just Harmony, Berwick Youth Choir, Serendipity Concert Party, Casey U3A Singers, Casey Hungarian Senior Citizen’s Club and Eumemmerring College.
