STUDENTS from Narre Warren South P-12 College fused fashion with fundraising recently when they strutted their stuff in aid of the Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH).
Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) students organised the event which took place on Wednesday, 23 August and raised around $2000 for RCH.
VCAL student Rachida Wahid, one of the organisers of the inaugural Supre Fashion Show, said the VCAL program required a project that contributed to an individual or group in the community.
“Our group were all interested in fashion so we approached (youth fashion outlet) Supre at Fountain Gate who agreed to sponsor the event.
“We decided that we wanted to support the Royal Children’s Hospital – everybody knows someone who has been helped by the hospital,” she said.
The event was held in the school gymnasium and attracted more than 200 people.
School VCAL coordinator Rob Walker said the show marked the successful completion of the program’s personal development component.
