Blood proves thicker than thief

A WOULD-BE thief left a pool of blood but walked away empty handed last week when a Hallam factory was targeted.
The Wedgewood Road factory, which is attached to a car yard, was hit between 8.30pm Wednesday 6 September and 7.50am the next morning.
Police said it appeared the person had tried to force a glass entrance door to the building’s front office area and had used a jemmy bar or similar tool to smash an area near the lock.
Blood was later found on glass near the lock and on a concrete step.
Police said it appeared the lock had become jarred into the doorframe and the person had then left empty handed.
