NARRE Warren detectives are continuing their fight against petrol and number plate thieves.
On Monday, 11 September officers arrested and charged a 20-year-old Narre Warren South man with the theft of number plates after he was found driving with plates that did not match his car.
Detectives said the plates had not been used for any petrol drive offs.
However, in a second arrest, police charged a 49-year-old Dandenong man last week with four counts of theft.
The charges related to the theft of petrol at service stations in Casey and its surrounding suburbs.
Both men were bailed and will appear at the Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 13 November.
Detective Senior Sergeant Ian Wilcox of Narre Warren CIU said police would continue to investigate the theft of petrol and number plates in Casey..
