Men not up to speed on dating scene

– Rebecca Fraser
IT’S certainly not raining men in Berwick.
A speed dating night scheduled to be held last Friday in Berwick has been postponed after more than three times the number of women than men signed up for the night.
Justine Knight of the Savvy Express Dating Service said 46 women and only 15 men signed up for the inaugural dating night.
She called on local single men looking for a fun night to come out and meet their potential match.
The event has now been postponed until Sunday, 22 October at 6.30pm with another speed dating night on Friday 24 November.
Ms Knight said they hoped to attract more men in the coming weeks but the phone still continued to run hot with single women wanting to come along.
“The guys seem to have headed for the hills,” she said.
“We have women for them to meet, now they just have to come out and meet them.”
Many single females aged in their early 50s to 60s have expressed interest in the event, and Ms Knight said they were now looking for men aged between 20 and 60 to come along.
The dating flurry gives participants 10 minutes to make an impression and increase their chances of meeting that special someone.
The evening costs $40 and includes two complementary drink vouchers and finger food.
