EXCITEMENT, disappointment and relief were only three of the emotions floating around Eumemmerring College on Monday.
Hundreds of eager students logged on to the Internet or checked their mobile phones to see how they faired and what their ENTER score would be.
For Sam Khoshaba (ENTER 92.55), Ben Hadrian (92.35) and Sarah Glenwright (92.30) it was all good news. The three students, along with Andrew Szollosi (95.45) and Roxanne Dunn (91.50), rounded out the top five performers at the Hallam campus for 2006. And year 11 student Sarah Watson had no problems with the year 12 workload – she received a perfect study score of 50 in business management.
Eumemmerring College year 12 coordinator Wendy Peake said she was thrilled for the top achievers at the school, but just as much for everyone who passed their VCE.
‘I’d just like to congratulate all Eumemmerring students who were studying unit 3-4 subjects,” she said. “In particular, an individual congratulation to the top five students for their fabulous results.”
While university won’t be for everyone, the top five at Eumemmerring all plan on undertaking further education. A science degree is on the cards for Andrew, Sam hopes to complete a double degree in commerce-engineering and Ben hopes to make a career out of engineering with his first study steps to be taken at Monash University.
Roxanne is looking for a career in editing and publishing and Sarah Glenwright wants to use her creative flair to study an arts degree at the University of Melbourne next year.
