Rain adds to tractor pull’s delights

SMOKE and noise seeped through the rain as a delighted crowd watched on at the Tooradin Tractor Pull on Saturday.
Despite the drizzle, about 4,500 people turned up at Rutter Park and stayed through to the end of the annual Tooradin event.
The president of the Tractor Pull Association of Tooradin, Mark Milligan said the rain was a welcome relief to most people after recent hot, dry weather.
He said the crowd thoroughly enjoyed the day and were more than happy to stay for the show.
“It was a big success even though we got washed out in the end,” Mr Milligan said.
The competitors managed to get about two-thirds of the way through the tractor events.
Also on offer for visitors were children’s rides, amusements and live bands, although fireworks were cancelled because of the rain.
Tractors aptly named Soul Revival, Quamby Quaker, Plum Crazy, Terminator and Enforcer took out the major events.
