Families harness winners

By Marc McGowan
Cranbourne father-son combination John and Shane McGuinness started it off by taking outsider Invincible Lombo (TAB $36.50) past the post first in race six over 2105 metres.
Shane also drove another outsider, Molto Bella ($87.00), to victory in the next race and ran third on Lotasilkari in the opener.
In race eight, Pearcedale trainer Bill Walker watched as daughter Simone steered his three-year-old gelding, Cougars Blue Jean ($3.40), to success over the same distance.
They were not the only locals to triumph on the day, with Clyde trainer Jayne Davies leaving a big impression in race three, by scoring with five-year-old mare Pyrites ($2.70) and her six-year-old mount, BendItLikeBekam, finishing third.
