Top side goes under

NARRE Warren Bowls Club’s Tuesday’s Division 2 side suffered its second loss of the season when they went down to the Dandenong Club.
The side still remains on top of the ladder despite only one rink winning, with a draw and loss resulting in a five-shot loss.
S. Bell, W. Harringsma, J. Naughton and I. Brotherton 16/30. C. Lapham, J. Green, S. Belcher and J. Millar 18/18. T. Henneman, N. Pugh, M. Horton and E. Gibb 26/17.
Division 3 had a bad day and was defeated at home by Keysborough, going down by 28 shots. The side is not playing well and are looking forward to the break and hopefully their form may improve in 2013.
S. Van Maanen, H. Belcher, G. Gilchrist and R. Pigdon 17/24. L. O’Brien, R. Young, J. Norman and S. Lapham 14/29. R. Rasmussen, P. Uren, A. Tobler and E. Van Maanen 17/23.
Saturday Division 3 played at Cranbourne, needing a win to hold on to top spot on the ladder and the team held fast with a 22-shot win on a difficult green. Three rinks were successful to give the side a 16-point lead in top place with one game to go before the break.
W. Harringsma, F. Fox, K. Mark and I. Brotherton skip 14/25. J. Dukats, P. O’Day, E. Luyters and J. Millar skip 21/19. S. Bell, S. Belcher, B. Brewster and G. Manifold skip 22/21. G. Cadman, J. Heathcote, M. Fitt and J. Parker skip 42/13.
Division 4 at home to Oakleigh were desperate for a win to stay in touch after sneaking into fourth spot on the ladder after their good performance last week. With five changes to the team it was always going to be a tough game, and so it proved with two rinks up and two down and a six shot win. A spirited win to hang on to fourth spot and keep their finals hopes alive.

Division 7 smarting after their shock one-shot loss last week was determined to bounce back at Sandringham to maintain their standing on top of the ladder. They came back with a 52-shot win with three rinks winning and the losing rink going down by just one shot, after a low-scoring game which could have gone either way.
R. Young, P. Rouse, A. Tobler and S. Birkett skip 31/10. L. McGeary, H. McCombe, G. Moxey and J. Hickman skip 28/12. G. Dodd, B. Potter, S. Lapham and R. Pigdon skip 15/16. D. Moore, J. Van Hout, J. Schwennesen and Brown skip 27/11.
