CHILDREN’S drama company Super Speak was the recently recognised by popular radio station 3AW, when it was announced winner of the 3AW Momentum Small Business Success Awards.
The business, which is soon to open a centre in Berwick, was recognised for its innovative approach toward educating young people and helping them to become confident communicators.
Super Speak aims to improve children’s communication skills via drama classes and drama-based activities.
Co-founder of the company Vicki Skyring was presented with the award by 3AW radio presenter, Denis Walter.
Ms Skyring, who founded the company with her husband Kyal, said it was a great honour to be recognised with the award.
“Because we are owner operators, having Small Business Victoria recognise it was a professional business was a nice affirmation,” she said.
“We know we are professionals but to see someone external recognise it was great.”
The company is set to open a Berwick-based store in February this year, an addition to an already extensive list of centres throughout Victoria.
The programs, which are led by six staff members, help students become more confident and flexible, and better communicators in general.
Since its foundation, the business has grown to involve more than 2000 students in public speaking and drama each year.
