Win boosts Narre Warren

NARRE Warren’s turf-one team is equal second on the ladder, after a good win against Doveton on Saturday.
After restricting the opposition to 196 the previous week and being 0/14 overnight, Narre Warren reeled in Doveton’s total, finishing with 5/206.
However, the day didn’t start to plan when Dean Williams was out lbw first ball, sending captain-coach Wendell Perumal to the crease.
Dimitri Dimakopoulos and Perumal set about putting things right for Narre.
With Nathan Wilson bowling some very good left arm swing bowling, batting wasn’t the easiest but the two stuck there until Dimitri was out for eight caught at short leg.
John Simpson then joined Perumal for a 33-run partnership.
Perumal was soon out lbw after the second drinks break for 48. This brought Dwayne Scott to the crease and from the outset he cut loose.
Hitting spinners to all parts and driving magnificently, Scott was looking at his first 50 for the year, but was given out lbw for 40.
Mark Teeuw came to the middle and Simpson started to find the middle of the bat, but was out for a patient 46.
Bill O’Loughlin then joined Mark Teeuw and the two had no trouble in passing the total, Teeuw finishing 22 not-out and O’Loughlin 14 not-out with one massive six.
