Raising money in their PJs

BACKSTAGE Dance Academy is holding its seventh consecutive fundraiser for the Royal Children’s Hospital.
Since its inception, the dance school has held a fundraiser for the hospital each year.
The upcoming fundraiser will be a pyjama week for students at the school from as young as two-years-of-age, through to 18.
Director of the dance school Jessica Solomon said it is a fun way to raise money for a good cause.
“It is easy for a large group to make a small donation and then make a big difference,” she said.
Jessica said in previous years it has only run on Good Friday, but the school has decided to make it a week-long event, beginning on Monday 28 March.
Students will be allowed to attend dance classes in their pyjamas at just the cost of a gold coin.
However Jessica said families are often more generous than this.
“Often families put in a lot more,” she said.
“Sometimes even 50 dollars.”
