The Pask Group welcomed the beginning of construction at its newest housing development in Clyde North last week with a soil-turning event and celebratory breakfast. Many guests gathered to witness the milestone for the Circa housing estate.
Dean Pask, managing director of the Pask Group, said the Circa development would allow the company to build upon its relationship within the Berwick area.
“It’s (Circa) truly the next extension of Berwick, it’s the highest land in this precinct – that was certainly an attraction,” he said.
“It’s close to Hillcrest College, it’s got everything around you, a future shopping centre.
“It is fairly unique in terms of its views, elevation and history of the site, to make it stand out for us as the site to purchase in the area.”
Also at the event was Kate Winterton, the very first home buyer at Circa. Mr Pask said one of the core buyer markets for the estate would be families who already had a link to the area.
“The benefit of being able to have your kids walk to school is priceless, so I think that will certainly be a big attraction for the estate as well,” he said.
“There are other schools to come in this precinct also, over time, but I certainly think having Hillcrest, which I think is about to open another campus on that site, will be a big driver for the project.”
The Circa estate will include a park, nearby wetlands and sporting grounds and three housing precincts: Newhaven, Northrise and The Grange.
Compared to previous devlopments, the design of Circa came together relatively easily through the hard work of Pask Development and acquisition manager Tim Pepper and a group of consultants.
“This site here just fell into place with its historical context with the location, elevation and the fact that there’s no fill here to build on, so you’re building on solid earth,” Mr Pask said.
“All these things really spoke for themselves.”
Adding to the land’s serenity is the Eyrecourt Homestead, a historic house which sits atop the hill, affording breathtaking views, just like the Circa development. Dr Ronald Rosanove, the owner of the homestead, said he was very excited by the plans for Circa and believed it would be a great addition to the area.
”I think that anyone who has a look will be tempted to buy, and should buy, because they won’t find a better spot,” Dr Rosanove said.
