Roses speak big volumes

ROSES are red, violets are blue and for some lucky locals their St Valentine’s Day wish came true.
Honey Blossom Florist owner Nithy Perera was one of those who helped make the day of love all the more special.
The Narre Warren business owner said she arranged more than 2500 roses in the days leading up to St Valentine’s Day and enjoyed every minute of it.
But flowers are not the only thing on the mind of a florist come 14 February – teddy bears, cards, balloons and ribbons all need to be thought of when preparing for the big day.
Ms Perera, who has been operating the Princes Highway store for only six weeks, said she had filled many different requests from fun-loving cupids.
“One man came in and bought 80 roses. He said they met eight years ago on Valentines Day, so 10 for each year,” Ms Perera said.
“We have also had a couple of girls sending flowers to their boyfriends and a girl sending flowers to her mum.”
She said this St Valentines Day was a chance to prove to new customers that her business offered quality flowers and good service.
“It’s a new business and I want to build up a customer base. I’m hoping people who buy flowers from me see the quality and good price, and will keep coming back for birthdays, Mother’s Day and other events.”
Anyone who forgot to send flowers on the special day and is keen to make amends can call the store on 9705 0606 to arrange a belated surprise for their loved one.
