Rotary Club pitch in

A FINANCIAL boost from the Rotary Club of Narre Warren has pushed funds raised by the Casey-Cardinina Relay for Life over the half a million dollar mark.
More than 4000 people attended the tenth annual Casey-Cardinia Relay for Life at Akoonah Park in Berwick in March to raise money for the Cancer Council.
The Rotary Club of Narre Warren recently presented Casey-Cardinia Relay for Life chairperson Karen Rycken with $3450 to push the total raised by the event to more than $500,000.
The money presented by the Rotary Club of Narre Warren was made up of $2650 raised from a barbecue at the event in March and a further $700 donated by the club.
Ms Rycken said it was an amazing and marvellous community event and she was overwhelmed by the support shown by Casey residents and organisations.
Since the relay began in Berwick ten years ago, the Casey-Cardinia Relay for Life has raised about $2 million for cancer research.
