Premier Hills unable to deliver

THE Endeavour Hills Premier Rugby side rolled up to Seaford’s Riveriera Reserve – the home of the Southern Districts Pirates – to watch its women, third grade and reserves sides roll up their sleeves and come away with great wins on the weekend.
In anyone’s mind, it would have been a great way to start the day and get that great club feel to motivate the Premier team to not just roll their sleeves up, but to flex their muscles as well.
But the side was on the back foot early, down 17-10 at half time, and went on to suffer yet another heavy loss – 48-13.
“Our first 40 was a struggle, we failed to have structure to build any momentum, and we failed to defend at a Premier grade level; it’s a must focus on area if we want to get more enjoyment out of the game,” assistant coach Keith Lelisi said.
The second 40 started with the home team again scoring quickly, maintaining its first half momentum.
“We failed to execute what has worked well for us previously, competing hard for everything, building pressure and maintaining momentum for long period of time,” Lelisi said.
“The issue for us this week was our discipline to execute our game plan.
“As a coach, it takes time and effort to design a game plan that’s going to deliver the desired outcome.
“The most challenging aspect of the plan is to get everyone on board to firstly agree it’s the right plan, secondly to understand it and most importantly, delivering it.”
Endeavour Hills, currently second last on the Premier ladder, will this week take on Power House at home.
