Japanese spoil local star’s return

SAMURAI pitcher Ikari was the winning pitcher in her side’s 10-7 defeat of the Springvale Lions Baseball Club last Thursday night. The Japanese side are the national champions in their country and have spent the last few weeks playing matches against Springvale and Victorian representative squads.
Berwick star Simone Wearne pitched for the Lions in the exhibition after missing the team’s first clash the previous week.
