ABOUT 100 students from various primary and secondary schools gathered at Narre Warren P-12 College last week for a special leadership conference.
The Lyndhurst Cluster Leadership Day involved students from several of the local primary and secondary schools meeting to discuss what it means to be a leader and how to develop leadership skills.
Team work, taking responsibility and learning to be assertive were all issues discussed and explored on the day.
The students present had been elected school captains, house captains or other leadership positions within their school.
Cluster Educator co-ordinator Dianne Stevens said a highlight of the day was a talk from SpiritWorx member Scott Wellard.
“He identified a variety of leaders in our global community and the important characteristics that made them a good leader,” Ms Stevens said.
“He encouraged all the students to have a dream, be passionate about it and to try and achieve their dream.”
Narre Warren South P-12 College year 10 students then took over the session and conducted a variety of activities including role plays, games and discussions.
