Eatery an instant drive-through

THE meaning of a drive-through restaurant was taken to another level in Narre Warren last week when a car crashed through the front window of an eatery.
Three Dandenong women received cuts and bruises as the driver mistook the accelerator pedal for the brake and rammed his white Ford sedan through the Foodstar restaurant.
The incident happened at the Princes Highway building shortly before 2.30pm.
Police said the driver, a 76-year-old Bentleigh man, was related to the women who had been eating with the group.
He decided to bring the car closer to the restaurant door to shorten the distance the group had to walk, police said.
The three women were treated for minor injuries at the scene while the driver was treated for shock.
A Foodstar manager said the crash disrupted trading for a couple of hours.
“We had some windows smashed, but that’s all,” she said.
