A BRAZEN thief stole a container with more than $300,000 of roof manufacturing equipment in broad daylight last Thursday.
Police said the thief drove up to the Hallam South factory between 4.15pm and 4.30pm in a semitrailer and used a crane to lift the container in full view of other businesses.
Senior Detective Sergeant Ian Wilcox of Narre Warren CIU said the shipping container and its contents were rare in Australia.
He said the container was white with red stripes and urged anyone who may have come into contact with the goods or witnessed the incident to contact Detective Senior Constable Angela Kennett at Narre Warren CIU on 9705 3111 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
