Police in two pursuits

By BRIDGET COOK

CASEY police are seeking to identify drivers who were involved in two separate pursuits in Casey recently.
The first occurred about 3am yesterday (Thursday) when Cranbourne police attempted to intercept a vehicle along Wood Road, Berwick, but they refused to pull over.
A pursuit was initiated, which lasted about two minutes where the driver was doing speeds of up to 115km/h in an 80km/h zone.
Police terminated the pursuit when the vehicle pulled onto the wrong side of the road, then slowed to about 70km/h before driving onto the footpath and into a public reserve, police said.
The offender abandoned the vehicle in the park and fled on foot.
Police said the person was driving a white, 1990 Nissan Pulsar sedan which had been stolen from Seaford earlier in the evening.
Police were also involved in another pursuit on Friday 8 November at 2.34pm on the Monash Freeway, between Heatherton Road and Stud Road.
Cardinia Highway Patrol observed a white, Ford utility speed past them with no number plates displayed.
Police initiated a pursuit, but stopped after 500 metres when the vehicle was travelling in excess of 150km/h.
A vehicle of the same description and displaying false number plates drove off from a breath testing site later than night, at 10.40pm, along Princes Highway, Beaconsfield, police said.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
