FOUNTAIN Gate Primary School students were full of harmony recently as they joined schools from around Australia in celebrating multiculturalism.
A special assembly was held and the school choir performed a number of multicultural songs.
Students were also encouraged to wear their national dress as part of Harmony Day.
A highlight of the day was a performance by four students originally from Ethiopia. Iftu, Bifako, Lenjiso and Gada performed a traditional dance and also talked to fellow students about their Oromo culture.
Students also completed activities related to many different countries.
The purpose of the day was to value and understand multiculturalism and our heritage while acknowledging the richness that diversity has created for Australia, a school official said.
