Thieves target two factories

SECURITY in the Hallam Industrial Estate has come under scrutiny again after thieves targeted factories in the area last week.
Police are treating the burglary of the two factories sometime last Wednesday night-Thursday morning as linked.
Gunn Auto Parts was broken into and ransacked but nothing was stolen. Police said the thieves also tried to gain access to Transtyle Automatics but failed.
The Hallam South Road factories both suffered damage to the front doors during the incidents.
The estate has had a string of burglaries, vandalism, hoon behaviour and a drive by shooting occur during the past six months.
Albert Blashki, who owns a business in the Hallam Industrial Estate, is continuing his call for 24-hour security patrols and more video surveillance throughout the area.
