Active holidays

By LACHLAN MOORHEAD

THOSE parents who are running out of ideas to keep their kids preoccupied on school holidays need look no further.
The Berwick Leisure Centre is offering a unique vacation care program for children throughout Casey.
Berwick mum Melissa Jamieson said the program had been perfect for her two sons, Jake and Rhys.
“We send the kids to vacation care because we know they are well looked after and because all staff members are extremely friendly and make our kids feel very welcome,” she said.
“They are happy to be there and Rhys said he likes going because of all of the different activities he gets to do each day – especially when he goes swimming.”
The autumn program will run from Monday 7 April to Thursday 17 April and includes a magic show, Easter crafts, a FitKids bootcamp and a rugby clinic.
YMCA vacation care program director Sarah Hadjialexiou echoed Melissa’s thoughts, noting the amount of planning that had been put into the event.
“There is always lots of fun on offer and we are committed to family-friendly activities and programs.
“That includes busy mums and dads,” she said.
“It’s hard juggling life around school holidays and work commitments and the vacation care program was created with that in mind.”
Berwick Leisure Centre is a licensed care facility and government family benefits can be claimed.
Berwick Leisure Centre is currently taking enrolments for the autumn vacation care program. Visit www.berwick.ymca.org.au or call 9707 3371.
