BERWICK Mazda has renewed its major sponsorship of the Berwick Junior Football Club (BJFC) for 2007.
Dealer principal and avid football supporter Grant Handley said he has had previous ties with junior football and as a former juniors coach, is passionate about supporting local sport at a grass roots level.
This year Berwick Mazda will also provide a ‘player-of-the-week’ award as further encouragement to the young players.
“Hopefully there is another young Koutoufides in the making here who can go on to play for Carlton,” he joked.
Mr Handley acknowledged that being in a position to give such support for a local club was a result of the support that the community had given to Berwick Mazda since it relocated from Dandenong nearly two years ago.
“Getting involved with the BJFC has been a way of returning something to the community where we live and work,” he said.
