Preps plan to succeed

THEY may be in their first year of school but Lynbrook Primary School’s prep students showed they have some pretty big plans for the future.
During the last week of term two, preps were asked to come dressed up in the theme of ‘when I grow up’ and they did not disappoint.
There were police officers, firefighters, chefs, mums and teachers, among some more ambitious costumes including Batman, princesses and kings.
Parents and the student’s grade-six buddies where invited to a parade where the students showed off their costumes.
Prep co-ordinator Rebekah Booth said the dress up day was held to celebrate what they had been learning throughout the term.
Ms Booth said their investigation unit was based around the topic of community.
“Throughout the term we looked at things like who keeps us safe, roles of people in the community and what is an emergency,” she said.
“We have had a range of visitors this term including Senior Constable David Sweeney, an Ambulance Victoria paramedic and first aid officers.
“We also had an excursion to Casey Safety Village to explore road safety and fire danger and walked to the local park and post office.”
