SEVEN churches in the Endeavour Hills-Doveton region are combining resources for a weekend full of drama, music and inspiration.
The South Eastern Christian Centre in Endeavour Hills will be alive with music and powerful stories from Friday, 22 June as part of Impact07.
Churches are embracing the opportunity to work together to show a Christian voice in the Casey community.
Impact07, a Casey Pastors Network initiative, is being held at several key locations around the City of Casey throughout this year.
Berwick Church of Christ pastor Ken Rayment said it has been exciting to see the churches working together on the project.
“It is amazing having churches of all backgrounds working in unity to host these Impact events for the community,” Mr Rayment said.
“Regardless of your background or spiritual beliefs, everyone is welcome to check out Impact07.”
Mr Rayment is the drawcard at two of the three evenings being held in June, and he believes what excites people is that Impact07 breaks down people’s long held view of church.
“When was the last time you went to a dynamic church where you could hear real stories of changed lives and there was an opportunity for anyone to experience God, freedom and hope?”
The first event, held in Berwick in April, attracted 500 people over three nights.
Special guests shared stories of hope and healing in their lives.
Bands provided energetic and powerful music and drama was used to act out some of the struggles people face daily.
Following the June weekend, the next Impact07 event is scheduled for Hallam-Narre Warren on the weekend of 20 to 22 July.
These events are free and all are welcome. A creche will be provided and there is a kids’ program on Friday night. The event will be held at South Eastern Christian Centre 2-8 Gleneagles Drive, Endeavour Hills starting at 7.30pm on Friday and Saturday and 6pm on Sunday.
