BERWICK will be treated to a night of musical merriment when singer Jimmy Fong comes to town this week.
The Malaysian-born musician will treat the audience to his sweet, acoustic sounds when he performs at the Old Cheese Factory tomorrow night (Friday).
Born on the isalnd of Penang off the west coast of Malaysia, Fong has been playing guitar for almost half a century, blending the sounds of East and West into a finished product that resonates with his listeners.
“I grew up with a strong musical influence from both sides,” he said.
He will bring the same musical passion and experience to Berwick that he has brought in his past 42 years of performing.
Highlights of his show include Jimmy’s performance of song Jonker Street in which he tells the story of his cultural background in an insightful and honest fashion.
Jimmy Fong will be performing at the Old Cheese Factory from 7.30pm. Entry is $10.
