POLICE are still waiting to interview a Narre Warren man over a bungled house burglary last week that led to the death of his alleged accomplice.
The 19yearold is being treated in a secure ward at St Vincent’s Hospital following the incident in Arnold Street, Noble Park, last Wednesday.
He is being treated for cuts to his arms and legs allegedly caused by a samurai sword used in the burglary.
A warrant of imprisonment was served on him last Thursday for an unrelated matter.
The 19yearold and another man, aged 23, of no fixed address, allegedly entered the house armed with a samurai sword and a handgun.
A police spokesman said the two men allegedly tied up the female resident before the male home owner returned home and was also tied up by the offenders.
While the men were in the house the owner was able to grab the sword, fatally wounding the 23yearold and forcing the Narre Warren man to flee, the spokesman said.
The name of the deceased has not been released at the request of his family.
