NARRE WARREN BOWLS

THE Saturday Division 1 side travelled to Cranbourne RSL full of confidence after a good win last week. Looking for another good performance and with only one change the team is settling down nicely but sport has a habit of surprising results and anything can happen on the day. So it was a disappointment for the team to lose by four shots 78/82, their first loss for the season. Results: K. Murray/K. Mark/R. Lane/I. Brotherton won 18/15. P. O’Day/W. Stevenson/G. Cowan/J. Millar lost 26/28. S. Bell/E. Sydenham/E. Lutyters/N. Bradley drew 21/21. E. Vergaro/A. Dawson/I. Stevenson/J. Parker lost 13/18.
After a bad loss last week in Division 3 the selectors made four changes determined to make amends at home against Noble Park and keep in touch with the top four. After giving away a big start to the opposition the side finished strongly to only fall by one shot 78/79, with two rinks up and one tied.
Results: P. Lister/R. Young/A. Kidd/John Heathcote won 19/15. R. Pigdon/J. Dukats/A. Scheurer/N. Hosmer lost 15/29. J. Moran/K. Davis/W. Harringsma/G. Miller won 26/17. M. Graham/C. Lapham/P. Castricum/S. Robinson drew 18/18.
Division 7 played at home and after the disappointment of going down by less than one shot last week, came to play. Consequently Mooroolbark was on the receiving end with Narre having a big 63-shot win 110/47. The margin is a great boost to their percentage.
Results: H. McCarthy/S. Firmin/F. Fox/Micki Horton won 25/14. A. Fitt/S. Boyd/R. Hoare/J. Green won 32/10. G. Cadman/J. Sheahan/J. Norman/B. Fraser won 32/11. D. Moore/P. Rouse/J. Zanon/D. Brick won 16/12.
Division 8 had a tough encounter at Cardinia Waters with one rink tied and one lost and an overall score of 32/50. The side are sitting on three wins and three losses and are not all that far from the teams in the top half of the ladder.
Results: T. Moore/E. Rodrigues/S. Birkett/A. Tobler lost 12/30. Z. Bulmer/P. Pater/S. Bulmer/G.Bowman drew 20/20.
Tuesday Division 1 had a tough day on the fast and tricky surface at Cardinia Waters where many teams have trouble with the pace of the green. With only one rink winning the side went down by 19 shots 44/63.
Results: S. Bell/J. Naughton/W. Stevenson/I. Brotherton lost 16/32. W. Haringsma/A. Kidd/E. Sydenham/J. Millar won 16/13. K. Mark/E. Gibb/R. Lane/I. Stevenson lost 12/18.
Division 3 were beaten at home by Berwick in a disappointing performance for the team, losing the last two games after winning the first five games of the season. All rinks lost and two rinks losing by narrow margins the final score 49/63.
Results: P. Uren/C. Lapham/M. Horton/R. Pigdon lost 21/22. J. Moran/G. Gilchrist/N. Pugh/J. Green lost 9/20. A. Fitt/P. Pater/E. Van Maanen/A. Tobler lost 19/21.
