MELBOURNE Cup day necessitated the midweek Pennant being move to Thursday last week, with both Hampton Park teams playing neighbours, Cranbourne.
Division 1 played at Hampton Park while Division 2 played at Cranbourne. Both teams suffered close but disappointing losses.
Division 1: Cranbourne (2) 14-69 d Hampton Park (1) 2-63 (G. Ampt/H. Naismith/D. Eastick/H. Lambert won 21-15. D. Carr/A. Westwell/N. Hendrie/C. Hendrie lost 15-21. S. Collins/J. Westwell/A. Brandolin/E. Smith lost 17-23).
Division 2: Cranbourne (3) 13-63 d Hampton Park (2) 3-56 (I. Bartlett/G. Clough/K. Goold/R. Woff won 26-13. J. Nunan/M. Baker/R. Wood/B. Nicol drew 20 all. B. Diaper/R. Diaper/I. Kitt/K Damon lost 10-30).
However on Saturday the tide turned, and all Hampton Park teams won.
Division 2 was at Clayton on their grass.
Division 2: Hampton Park (1) 16-84 d Clayton (3) 2-77 (S. Barnes/C. Hendrie/A. Brandolin/W. Hardy won 23-12. M. Smith/N. Hendrie/S. McDonald/K. Cobden won 25-21. G. Ampt/J. Nunan/S. Michallef/S. Collins won 27-20. L. Simpson/M. Paton/P. Hayden/Z. Storm lost 9-24).
Division 4 was at home to Berwick, and won all rinks.
Division 4: Hampton Park (2) 18-111 d Berwick (5) 0-50. (C. Barnes/R. Pallett/S. Hatch/I. Bartlett won 39-8. H. Naismith/J. Wright/G. Ladner/R. Woff won 26-10. A. Ottaway/T. Storm/D. Eastick/H. Lambert won 20-17. R. Beverly/J.Van Hout/E. Smith/J. Westwell won 26-15).
Division 6 was at Mulgrave CC.
Division 6: Hampton Park (3) 18-88 d Mulgrave CC (8) 2-70. (R Oost/G. Wilson/K. Goold/B. Webb won 31-15. L. Soligo/A. Westwell/B. Diaper/R. Wood won 23-11. J. Sherry/J. Collins/C. Richards/B. Holden won 17-15. G. Cox/T. Harbright/B. Nicol/I. Kitt lost 17-21.
After missing a game last week due to lack of players, this week the Division 8 team had their first ‘win’ with a forfeit given by Burden Park.
Division 8: Hampton Park (4) 14-15 d Burden Park (8) 0-0.
