Sized up for performance

By SHANNON MCBRIDE

DAVID and Patsy will be telling the Casey community the long and the short of it when they perform at the Old Cheese Factory later this month.
David Baird and Patsy Toop are the two halves of The Long and Short of It, a Melbourne-based country music cover band which will be making their way to the Old Cheese Factory later this month.
The group started by chance five years ago when Patsy heard David perform for the first time at a charity gig.
After building up the courage, she asked him if she could sing along and the rest is history.
David Baird, the “short” of the duo, has been a singer and guitarist for more than 30 years.
Patsy, the “long”, was musically influenced from a young age after learning the classical piano and by idolizing artists such as Cat Stevens and Pink Floyd.
The duo will be performing at the District Folk Club (Badfolk) on 21 November where they will be playing tracks from their new album, You Make Me Stronger.
For more information, contact The Old Cheese Factory on 9702 1223.
