The Stars will shine

By LACHLAN MOORHEAD

THE CASEY community can get set for more fun next month.
The Melbourne Stars Casey Family Fun Day is back for a third year in 2014, with some of the best cricketers in the country expected to attend the event on Sunday 14 December.
Casey Mayor Mick Morland has encouraged residents to bring their family and friends along for the occasion.
“The Melbourne Stars Casey Family Fun Day continues to grow in popularity. With so many stars in attendance and a huge variety of activities and entertainment on offer at the one event, it’s easy to see why!” Cr Morland said.
“I encourage everyone to come along to this fantastic family event to score an autograph from players, including team captain Cameron White, Kevin Pietersen, David Hussey and James Faulkner!
“From free entertainment and activities for people of all ages, to watching elite level sport, to relaxing while enjoying the carnival style atmosphere, there’s sure to be something for everyone.”
In addition to meeting the celebrity cricketers, guests at the Family Fun Day will also be able to participate in a range of activities organised by the Melbourne Vixens and Life Saving Victoria.
Melbourne Stars’ CEO Clint Cooper said the atmosphere at the Family Fun Day had been electric in past years, and he looked forward to a similar excitement next month.
“The support we get from the Casey community is second to none and really helps to set the tone for our season,” he said.
“Casey is certainly our home away from home and we really love the opportunity to connect with our fans in such a fun, family friendly environment.
“We hope all of Casey gets behind the day and can come along.”
The Melbourne Stars Casey Family Fun Day will be held from 10am to 3pm at Casey Fields on Sunday 14 December.
