Caught in the act

A MAN who attempted to break into a house in Berwick was caught in the act by a resident of the home.
Sometime after 4pm on Sunday 23 November, a man attempted to break into a house along Earlsfield Drive, Berwick, but was disturbed when one of the victims heard noises coming from along-side his house.
When he investigated further he found a 25-year-old man attempting to force open a door, and along with a neighbour, kept the burglar there until the police arrived. The man was later taken into custody.
Detectives from Casey later executed a search warrant on the suspect’s home and recovered stolen items from another address in Berwick which had been broken into.
The man was remanded in custody and was scheduled to appear in the Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
